Thankgiving Treats

Pumpkin pie with turkey and leaf cutout in the center.

This was made specially for my grandad. He requested cherry pie and I delivered, topped off with his ranch's brand. That's what I call "custom".
Just wanted to take a moment and brag on a few of the pies I made for our Thanksgiving feast.

Around my table...

Christmas Cards

As I prepare for the holidays, two things have been on my mind: family pictures and Christmas cards. Of course, these two things go hand in hand. As I cannot just snap a shot of the family in an instant, I can get online and look around for great deals on cards that are stylish and tasteful. I have come across a great option that offers the qualities that I am looking for in all of my photo gifts, especially cards. The designs are great and so are the prices. I was also extremely excited and intrigued when I found they were offering 50 Free Holiday Cards for bloggers.
I have ordered from Shutterfly in the past and have been extremely pleased with the products that I have received. The photo quality is excellent and I have not been disappointed by any means. As for Christmas cards, I have browsed the site and found several designs that fit my taste and style. Here are a few of those cards:

I love the playful letters and retro design on this card. Definitely a huge possibility when it comes to purchasing our Christmas cards.

I am a big fan of the monogram on this card, as well as the 'Merry Christmas.' Our holidays are happy, but we definitely are big proponents of saying "Merry Christmas."

I can definitely imagine my sweet girl's smiling face on this card.

Make sure to stop by their site and check it out for yourself.

Smile

With Christmas around the corner, I am working on some pretty crafty Christmas gifts for the ones we love the most. Here is a hint to something we are working on.

Big Helper

Once November comes around, our family commences into "get ready for Christmas" mode. Usually first on the list is to get lights up on the house. This year is no different, as there are two trees in the front yard and 6 trees on the side of house wrapped in red and white lights. Theme: Candy Cane. As a crazy about Christmas mom, I find it completely necessary to emerge Karrington into the "crazy about Christmas" culture. She's catching on pretty fast and found great joy in helping G-Pops with some of the lights this weekend.
Such a big helper!

G-Pops let her climb up the ladder. She is so proud!

She's thinking: THIS IS AWESOME!

Isn't that a cute Little House on the Prairie outfit?

Kisses for Her Cousin

The other day we got a lovely surprise from Anton's brother, Dominic, and his wife, Gretchen: a sweet birth announcement picturing Jemma, our new little niece (see her story at thatmamagretchen.blogpot.com)  I gave it a good look and then handed it back to Karrington. I was able to capture these sweet pictures as she looked at the 'baby.'

Crafty Aunt

This weekend I kept myself busy with several projects around the house. Before I could get started, Karrington and I ventured down to Hobby Lobby. I was fortunate to find sales on the majority of the items I was looking to purchase, so that was AWESOME!

Project #1 Letters for Lucy

My niece Lucy will be born any day now. Her due date is November 20, but my SIL Deborah is feeling like it could be any day now. You know how babies are though, they come whenever it's their time.
I painted the letter white and then applied scrapbooking paper in the colors of Lucy's room, pink and green. I antiqued the edges of the paper with some of the white paint and then added a little ribbon for detail. Pretty cute, don't you think?

Project #2 Bows for Karrington

We just bought Karrington some new clothes (she's a growing girl). Every time there are new clothes purchased, it is necessary to make sure we have bows to match. There were a couple of shirts that we didn't have matching bows for, so while we were at Hobby Lobby Karrington and I checked out the bows. There weren't any that I really liked, so I decided that we might need to go look somewhere else (maybe a craft mall). That all changed when I discovered a 50% discount on ribbon. I found several cute patterns with colors to match her new shirts and ventured into being a bow making mama. Not too bad for my first batch.
